Release: “Wifes Ch. 1” by Yokoyama Naoki

The setting is Japan in the future. Polygamy has become legal as a method to combat declining birth rates. The Kamizono family is one such example of a polygamous household. Although Mahiru, Saya, and Yuuya all get along well; Mahiru and Saya can’t help but feel worried about who would be the odd one out if polygamy weren’t permitted.

We meant to do this story more than three years ago, and I had even translated the first few pages before putting it on hold. Well, better (massively) late than never!

Chapter two of Yokoyama Naoki’s tankoubon “Wifes”; the first chapter in a two-chapter story.

  1. Reminds me of a classic work by Yasui Riosuke a.k.a. Goromenz – “Bust To Bust” (the short title), where in the main story arc, the male protagonist, acquiring a harem while (presumably) a high school student, decided that, if need be, he’d put himself in a future position to make polygamy legal in Japan, and by the story’s end, he did it.

Well, this one’s got my interest to stick around to see how it plays out.

    • Huh, I never read that one (the earliest work of Yasui Riosuke I remember is “Shocking Pink”). Time to check it out!

  2. The husband’s writing makes this 10 times better. Also, the censorship is rather heavy on some pages (17), shame how they’re cracking down on it now…
