I’ll admit that I found the ending somewhat sad, so I wasn’t completely sure if it should be a Team Koinaka release. Still, the content within wasn’t objectionable, and I love Koume Keito’s art; it’s nice to see them finally published again in a non-WANIMAGA magazine.

The phrase “合縁奇縁” (Aien Kien) is defined as “a couple strangely but happily united; uncanny relationship formed by a quirk of fate”, but in this case the title is written with “煙”, a word that means “smoke, fumes”, in place of “縁”. They have the same pronunciation.

I must confess that this story was borderline for Team Koinaka’s standards, and I wasn’t sure if it should be a Team Koinaka release at all. Be warned that Shinya is kind of a dick. That said, Cuvie has long been one of my favorite artists, and I always wanted to work on at least one of her stories. Of all the untranslated Cuvie material left, this story appealed the most to me, so that’s why I went forward with it.
